Singer-songwriter Patti Smith has revealed details of her last ever show in Australia following appearances in the 2017 Byron Bay Bluesfest.
The 70-year-old’s final gig will take place at Melbourne’s Festival Hall on April 20. Melbourne-based musician Courtney Barnett has been named as a supporting act.
“Patti personally requested Courtney Barnett to be her special guest in her final ever show in Australia at Melbourne’s Festival Hall, just a few days after the festival,” said Peter Noble OAM, festival director at Bluesfest.
“Now we are thrilled to announce that Courtney will play before Patti on Easter Thursday at Bluesfest.”
Honoured to be opening for Patti Smith in April 🙏🏼 her last ever Australian show!
